Laser Smooth Company_Vacation Plans and Laser Hair Removal - What You Need To Know-1

The skin is your body’s largest organ, and the one that is perhaps the easiest to damage! Skin takes all manner of beatings, so it’s important that we do whatever we can to take care of it. Having healthy skin not only makes you look better, but helps you feel better too! Here are some easy ways to protect your skin this summer.

1. Use Sunscreen

Obvious, right? Still, it’s worth saying again and again. Sunscreen is made to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Even on cloudy days, those UV rays are still getting to your skin! Find a sunscreen with the right SPF for you and wear it anytime you plan to be in the sun for an extended time. Reapplication every two hours, or after swimming or sweating, is important as well.

2. Wear Sunglasses with UV Protection

Plenty of sunglasses are available these days with coatings that protect against UVA and UVB rays. This protects not only the sensitive skin around your eyes, but your eyes themselves! Leaving your eyes exposed to UV rays can eventually lead to cataracts.

3. Wear a Hat

Wide-brimmed hats, like sunhats, are not only cute – but provide shade that protects your face, ears, and neck! Baseball caps give a modicum of protection as well, but don’t forget to apply sunscreen to the non-shaded parts of your body – like ears and neck.

4. Avoid Sun from 10 AM to 2 PM

Whenever possible, avoiding the sun between 10 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon is ultimately best for your skin. During these hours the sun is at its most intense, and you have the greatest chance of risking sunburn. If you have to be outside, mind that you keep your sunscreen well applied and seek shade whenever possible.

5. No Tanning Beds

Trust us — tanning beds just aren’t worth it. Why directly expose your skin to what harms it the most? Tanning beds produce harmful UVA and UVB rays, which increase the risk of skin cancer. There is also no proven evidence that using tanning beds to obtain a base tan decreases your risk of sunburn, but plenty of evidence that it can lead to deadly disease.

Keep these bits of advice in mind, and you’re well on your way to maintaining your skin’s best health! Healthy skin feels better, looks better, and is crucial to your quality of life.
